al-Muallem's statements before the General Assembly are baseless

In a speech before the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Muallem accused the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Autonomous Administration of plotting against the unity of Syria and its people and plundering its wealth.

In response, the External Relations Department of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria issued a written statement to public opinion, through which it clarified, that: “In an attempt to evade the Syrian reality and the state of change that has haunted Syria for years and in a public adherence to the mentality and approach that brought Syria to this state. And in the face of turning a blind eye to the practices of Turkey and its mercenaries in Syria and their practice of de facto division and threatening the unity of Syria and turning the Syrian regions into Turkish states, and in total insistence on denying the necessity of a solution according to the Syrians' need.

Every time, one of the officials of the Syrian regime comes out speaking about the reality in northern and eastern Syria in a language that is not without its irrationality, avoiding responsibility and denying reality. The Autonomous Administration has conclusive evidence and confessions confirming the involvement of the Syrian regime in fueling the situation in those areas.

This mentality can never achieve a solution in Syria

The Department of Foreign Relations also indicated: “As for the issue of oil and what al-Muollem is trying to say, it is certain that the principles of the Autonomous Administration are constant in this area, and we believe that natural resources belong to all Syrians, and we are surprised that the regime did not ask and complain about the world when ISIS was stealing these wealth and selling it to Turkey,” We would also like to point out that what is being used from oil is used to serve and run the affairs of the region at a time when there is no support in any way for these areas, which in the end are Syrian areas and an integral part of them.

The External Relations Department clarified that: “While we consider these statements to be unfounded, we affirm that this mentality can never achieve a solution in Syria, and we also affirm that speaking before any international and international party must be in the service of Syria.
