At least 16 people were killed in different circumstances over the past 24 hours, reflecting the continuing security chaos and multiple hotspots of danger in areas controlled by the Damascus authorities.

In Daraa countryside, a man was killed after he was accidentally shot by his son's gun in the area between al-Ghariyah al-Gharbiya and Khirbet Ghazaleh, while a woman from Masika al-Hayat village was killed and 4 others were injured by random gunfire near Mleiha al-Attash.

In Aleppo, a person was shot dead by unknown assailants on a motorcycle, accusing him of collaborating with the Baathist regime, while a member of the Damascus Authority's security forces was killed in the same city.

In Idlib, a member of the Damascus Authority's security forces was killed by a landmine explosion on the outskirts of Dadikh village, and the body of a citizen who had gone missing about two weeks ago was found in Al-Dana with signs of torture. The body of a woman was found in the village of al-Fuaa, shot dead under mysterious circumstances.

In Latakia, a child was killed when an explosive device exploded behind a school in Bahmra village, while in Idlib, a person was killed by "a stray bullet during celebrations to lift US sanctions on Syria," according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), while in Idlib, a person was killed by "a stray bullet during celebrations to lift US sanctions on Syria.

In the eastern countryside of Aleppo, the bodies of four people, including two children and a woman, were discovered inside a well in the village of al-Aziziya, killed by the Baathist regime in 2014, in a massacre that is being re-discovered after years of concealment.

Three people were also killed when a landmine exploded in their car near al-Tha'la military airport in the western countryside of Sweiyda.

This bloody toll underscores the escalation of insecurity and the continued suffering in the absence of stability, amid the increasing risk of remnants of war and the return of assassinations and organized violence in areas controlled by the Damascus authority.
