Free Women Union in al-Shahba holds its 3rd conference

Today, the activities of the third conference of the Free Women Union in al-Shahba started under the slogan "With the struggle of Hevrin and Zahra, we will end the occupation and guarantee the women's revolution."

The Free Women Union in al-Shahba organized the third conference with the participation of 100 representatives of the union's members and women's institutions in the Culture and Art Hall in Fafin district of al-Shahba canton.

The conference hall was decorated with pictures of the martyrs who were martyred during the revolution in northern and eastern Syria, flags of the Free Women Union in al-Shahba, and banners that with "Our pledge is to break the Imerli regime and live free with the leader Ocalan,"  written on.

The conference began with a minute of silence, followed by the formation of a bureau to manage the conference's work from three administrators, then an opening speech by the Head of the Executive Body of the Democratic Union Party Hadiyya Youssef who congratulated the leader Abdullah Ocalan and all al-Shahba women for convening the conference.

Hadiyya Youssef touched on the role of women in organizing themselves within the revolution in northern and eastern Syria and said: "We are fortunate because there are thousands of women who sacrificed their lives to live a free and honorable life."

Hadiyya Youssef added: "We bless this step that al-Shahba women took, based on the thought and philosophy of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and we can say that we took a good step during this period in forming the Union. Today, we are facing difficult tasks and great challenges in front of the authoritarian mentality, so our presence here is a challenge to the capitalist system and reactionary regimes that hinder women's freedom."

Then, the annual report on the work of the Free Women Union in al-Shahba was read, and discussed by the coordinator of the Free Women Union in Ahras district in al-Shahba canton, Rahma Alo.

Among the most important works and achievements of the Free Women Union in al-Shahba; the opening of a special academy for the Free Women's Union in al-Shahba, the opening of five training courses for the members, the accession of 57 members to the Union, and the holding of 373 meetings for women in al-Shahba canton. The meetings included the need to raise al-Shahba women's awareness and the organizational matters in the canton.

Then, the report was evaluated by the attendees, and the organizational status of the Union was discussed. In addition, the conference was closed to the media.
