5 elderly residents of Afrin were kidnapped, released after paying ransom

The Human Rights Organization Afrin - Syria reported that the mercenaries of the "military police" of the Turkish occupation kidnapped on Wednesday, 09-02-2020 five elderly people from Afrin on charge of dealing with the Autonomous Administration in the past.

The Organization documented the names of the kidnapped people who are from the village of "Brimjeh" of "Mobata" district in the occupied Afrin. They are:

Nashat Khalil Hannan

Aref Qazqli Ehmo

Asaad Ibrahim Morad

Mohamed Ibrahim Morad

Mohamed Khalil Hannan

The kidnappers were transferred to the command center of the so-called "military police" in the district, where they were released after each person paid a ransom of 800 Turkish liras.

The kidnapping of the remaining people in Afrin by the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation has been still continuing since the occupation of Afrin in March 2018 and until now, accusing them of false charges and arguments, namely affiliation or dealing with the Autonomous Administration, whether they are children, women or the elderly in order to blackmail them to pay the ransom and to forcibly displace their homes and properties to replace them with settlers and mercenary families affiliated with the Turkish occupation.
