The statement was read amid a gathering of a number of administrators and members of the KSC in Beirut by Lava Bakir.

The statement read:

“The world celebrates annually on the first of September the International Day of Peace. On this day, we call on all human rights and humanitarian organizations, civil society, the United Nations to look at the situation of the leader Abdullah Ocalan and move to solve the Kurdish cause.

A leader who devoted his life to the cause of his people, who have been subjected from immemorial times to violations and extermination, and the liquidation of its historically oldest Kurdish nationalism, is entitled to live in peace and dignity in his stolen homeland through the international agreements.

Twenty years ago, the Kurdish leader, thinker, and philosopher was arrested under false pretenses. Where is humanity and world conscience in front of this issue? The person who devoted his life to peace and democracy is now in the prisons of the Turkish state that violates all international covenants and covenants.

On this day, we need to revive this humanitarian occasion, especially since our country has been witnessing for years a bloody conflict that claimed the lives of millions of innocent people between a martyr, a wounded, a homeless and a displaced. On the International Peace Day. It is a duty for all of us to work hand in hand to put an end to this tragedy that our people live. They live in the occupied areas of Afrin, Serêkaniyê, and Girê Spi, where women are killed, kidnapped, tortured, raped, theft and many crimes. Women are subjected to daily violations without distinguishing between civilians and combatants by the criminal Turkish state against Kurdish women. There is genocide in the four parts of Kurdistan and the Kurdish people and their values are considered unimportant. We see that the Kurdish people are facing massacres from the killing of thousands of Shengal women to the killing of Bakiza, Fatima, Mother Aqeedah, and even Hevrin Khalaf and our fighter Amara all of them were martyred as a result of the same murderous mentality. Member of KSC for the Euphrates region, Zahra Barkal, Habun Mulla Khalil, and Mother Amina Wassi were also targeted to break the woman’s will, but the woman is still resisting until this moment just as the resistance and struggle of lawyer Ebru Timtek, who resisted 238 days of the open hunger strike to demand freedom, justice and democracy.

This resistance gave a lesson to fascism. We in the KSC in Lebanon on this International Day of Peace in its characteristic is the documentation and embodiment of international human rights covenants, which have devoted most of their attention to the opportunity for a person to have the opportunity for a safe, stable and dignified life. And on this day, we call on the United Nations and all human rights and humanitarian organizations and civil society to free the leader Abdullah Ocalan and release all detainees.

We call on all peoples to stop the war machine and start a serious dialogue in order to build a country that enjoys peace and coexistence. This peace will not be achieved if the Kurds and all components do not enjoy their legitimate national rights. There is no peace with racism and sectarianism. We call for solidarity between the components in the homeland for the intellectual and practical transition from a culture of revenge and violence to a culture of tolerance, peace and coexistence. "
