Two mass graves of 93rd Brigade found in Ain Issa

In Ain Issa district, the Internal Security Forces found two mass graves for members of the 93rd Brigade of the Syrian government forces, after a report from the people of the area.

After inspecting the place by the security forces, the initial response team of the Raqqa Civil Council was called to exhume the remains from these graves.

These two cemeteries are located in the village of Al-Farhaniya in Ain Issa district, 6 km southwest of the district.

Today, 14 remains of members of the 93rd Brigade of the Syrian government forces were found in the first cemetery, while the process of exhuming the remains from the second cemetery was postponed until tomorrow.

According to the area's residents, the number of remains in the second cemetery is estimated at 40.

All the elements who were liquidated by ISIS mercenaries were buried by the people of the region in the late evening hours, for fear of punishment from the mercenaries.

The Relations Office of the Syrian Democratic Forces handed over all the bodies exhumed from the first grave of the Syrian government forces in Ain Issa district, which spread in Ain Issa areas and the lines of contact with the Turkish enemy after its recent aggression against the regions of northern and eastern Syria on the 9th of October of last year.

Of note, with the discovery of these two graves, the number of mass graves discovered will be 4, as two mass graves were previously found in 2018 containing hundreds of remains of the 93 brigade members who were liquidated by ISIS mercenaries in the summer of 2014 after their occupation of the area.
