Popular tension following attack of Turkish mercenaries on women in Girê Spi and Serêkaniyê

After beating a woman by the mercenaries of the Turkish National Army, the city of Girê Spi / Tal Abyad witnessed a widespread popular protest, which coincided with clashes between mercenary groups. While Serêkaniyê witnessed a demonstration demanding the expulsion of the mercenaries.

The occupied areas by Turkey and its mercenaries are witnessing more violations and crimes against civilians in general and women in particular. The so-called "Military Police" of the Turkish occupation army stormed a house in the city of Tal Abyad in the Al-Shallal neighborhood, robbed it, and severely beat a woman. She was subsequently transferred to the hospital.

After that incident, the city witnessed popular tension, which coincided with the mobilization of the mercenaries of the "Third Division" that clashed with the elements of the "MP" in the city center, and strong clashes erupted between the mercenaries at the political roundabout in the city center, with both sides mobilizing their mercenaries.

The people of the city are preparing to go out tomorrow, Monday, in demonstrations in the public square calling for the expulsion of Turkish mercenaries from the city and the accountability of mercenaries.

It is noteworthy that the city of Serêkaniyê / Ras al-Ain also witnessed popular demonstrations and protests, and the so-called “City Local Council” stopped its work in protest against Turkey’s appointment of one of the Al-Hamzat Division mercenaries as director of the border crossing, demanding that the director to be from Serêkaniyê, in addition to the demonstrators ’demand to expel mercenaries from the city of Serêkaniyê, after two mercenary leaders, called “Abu Enad and Abu Moaz,” attacked and insulted women from the city’s residents.
