The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces said: "Mazloum Abdi visited at the head of a leading delegation from SDF that included the Commander Newroz Ahmed and commands of the Internal Security Forces on an inspection tour to the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor against the background of the assassinations of the sheikhs and elders of the tribes witnessed in the region and the remarkable growth of the activity of ISIS cells and other local and regional parties that tried to create chaos in the region."

The Center noted that on his tour, Abdi met with various social and civil activities and held meetings for the military and civil councils of Deir ez-Zor. The agenda of the meetings and interviews focused on what happened in Deir ez-Zor and what must be done to spare the region chaos.

The Media Center indicated that Abdi confirmed that the regions of northern and eastern Syria are on the verge of a new phase, seeking to reach a political solution that is consistent with the aspirations of the Syrians in accordance with the international resolution (2254).

The leading delegation also discussed all the issues of concern to people in Deir ez-Zor, including the movement of ISIS cells supported by local and regional parties, service issues, job opportunities and the military relocation of the forces.

Abdi stressed that the assassinations aim at destabilizing, causing bloody strife, and dispersing unity and familiarity among the components of the region, and therefore SDF are determined to work to combat ISIS cells and respond to all attempts by the Syrian regime to stir up discord.

At the end of the two-day tour, Abdi instructed the need for the civil council to work to provide services at a faster pace, and called on the international coalition to assume its responsibilities in supporting the region and pressuring the parties to find political solutions that fit the aspirations of all the Syrian components.
