Cutting and burning forest trees and selling them as firewood and charcoal to Turkey

In another context, the HR pointed out that the Turkish occupation mercenaries burned agricultural lands in the village of "Omara" in Shera (Sharan) district in the occupied Afrin canton.

The organization drew attention to the violations of the Turkish occupation mercenaries of the so-called "Syrian National Army" with a direct directive by the Turkish intelligence to involve the indigenous people in their crimes of forced labor in the Bulbul sub-district (Bulbul), to cut down forest trees in Jabal Hawar, led by the mercenaries of the Liwaa Al-Shamal, all the way to the villages of Kubak and Kulika, belonging to Mobata (Maabatli).

Jabal Hawar in the occupied Afrin canton is a series of mountains linking three areas to each other as an extension of Bulbul, passing through Rajo and Mobata.

Forcing indigenous people to work with mercenaries in cutting down forest trees

And the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation work in those villages more than 100 workers forcibly to cut down forest trees in the Hawar Mountains, and the mercenaries bring the cut trees to the village of Kulika to be sold as firewood by Ibrahim Gilo and Ali

Khalil Hamo, and convert the other part into charcoal and sell it in the markets of Afrin and Idlib and export large quantities to Turkey and sell them at high prices.

Change the demography of the region and settle mercenary families

On the other hand, in the context of demographic change and the pursuit of the Turkmenization policy by the Turkish occupation, the organization added that the Turkish occupation continues to fight the identity of the occupied Afrin canton through the implementation of its colonial plans in the region in a new form and manner by bringing in the families of mercenaries from Turkmen settlers from various Syrian regions and settling them in the homes of indigenous people.

The organization notes that the remaining indigenous people in Afrin are exposed to various types of violations and crimes, including murder, kidnapping, torture, theft and destruction of public and private property, with the aim of tightening the screws on the population and displacing them with these methods to end the Kurdish presence in the region.

Bringing mercenary families to Afrin and establishing settlements for them and camps in Yazidi villages

The organization continued that the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation are building settlements that resemble settlements in the vicinity of the village of Taranda, affiliated to Afrin city center, up to Sherawa district, in order to settle the mercenary families, there.

More recently, the Turkish occupation has expanded these plans, as it is currently building a large camp behind the village of Bafilion in the predominantly Yazidi district of Shera, in addition to establishing a camp for settlers who were recently brought in from the countryside of Idlib governorate, in the square where the annual Newroz celebration was held in the village of Afraza of Mobata district.

The Turkish occupation was not satisfied with that, but rather allowed settlers in the village of Qibar to seize agricultural lands that were previously called state property and agrarian reform, where trees are cut down and housing homes are built for them alongside the Turkish military base in the vicinity of the village, in addition to seizing some returned agricultural lands Owned by the village residents.

The organization emphasized that building camps that are somewhat similar to settlements at such times is aimed at consolidating and stabilizing the presence of Arab and Turkmen settlers and mercenary families by various means and ensuring that they do not leave to complete the demographic change in the region.
