About two months after announcing the launch of a military attack on Haftanin area in southern Kurdistan, the Turkish state is still reeling in the face of the Kurdish liberation movement fighters, and it has failed to achieve its inherent goals of occupying the lands of southern Kurdistan.

Most politicians believe that the goal of this operation is not the elimination of the Kurdish fighters defending the land of Kurdistan that Turkey is trying to occupy or undermining the Kurdish liberation movement, but rather everyone sees that the goal is to eliminate the Kurdish presence, where they are existed.

A member of the Women's Council of the Democratic Union Party, Sara Khalil, said in an interview with Hawar news agency ANHA: "Despite the great escalation of the Turkish state during this period on Haftanin area through its warplanes, heavy weapons and large numbers of its soldiers, we see that those who have sworn to sacrifice their lives for their land and gave promise of the victory to the people, they fight valiantly there.

The Turkish attack on Haftanin area in southern Kurdistan was launched by Turkey on the 17th of June, and is still continuing on lands under the sovereignty of the Iraqi state and the Kurdistan Regional Government, from which no actual move has been issued to stop the attacks.

Sara Khalil added, "The attack on Haftanin has a great impact on the future of the Kurds and the Kurdish issue, because the attacks on Haftanin do not target an individual or party, but rather an entire people, and Dêrsim massacre is good example of the heinous practices of the Turkish state against the Kurds throughout their history to exile them and eradication their existence."

Sara Khalil believes that Turkey has failed to deny the existence of the Kurds, thanks to the resistance it was facing from the Kurdish heroes, thanks to which the Kurdish people were able to rise despite the setbacks they experienced.

She pointed out that "the recent escalation in Haftanin is caused by the Kurdish unity that is on its way to be achieved, and this is what caused the Turkish state's insanity, so the Kurdish parties must stand together to counter the Turkish ambitions."

Sara denounced the silence of the southern Kurdistan parties regarding the Turkish attacks on Haftanin, and said that "its silence leaves us doubting that they are satisfied with the bombing of its siblings in that region," and called on them to assume responsibility and stand in the face of Turkish ambitions.

Sara Khalil concluded her speech, calling on the Kurdish forces, in particular in southern Kurdistan, to stand with their Kurdish siblings and abandon their personal interests, and called on the Iraqi government to protect its borders from Turkish attacks.
