The Turkish occupation continues in its systematic policies to change the demography of the occupied Afrin region, remove the indigenous people from their villages and homes and resettle their mercenary families in it, to complete its project of dividing the Syrian lands, and annex them to the Turkish state.

In this context, a private source from the village of Kakhira (Yakhur) of the Mobata District in Afrin district, told our agency that the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries from the Sulaiman Shah and Amshat battalions, forcibly removed the villagers from their homes, and they inhabited them in random camps in the northern square on the outskirts of the village.

"They have turned scores of houses into military headquarters, and those who refuse to leave their homes are killed," the source said.

The source indicated that the Turkish occupation brought five mercenary factions belonging to the Sulayman Shah battalion and Amshat to the village.

On January 20, 2018, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries launched their attacks on Afrin canton and the civilian families using all the heavy weapons, practicing a series of violations of the most heinous crimes, including kidnappings, killings, looting, robberies, and the demographic change of the region.

It is reported that before the Turkish occupation of Afrin, the population of Afrin was 550 thousand people, but after the occupation, and because of the displacement of more than 300 thousand people from Afrin, only 20 percent of the indigenous population remains, while the remaining 80% of the population are from the mercenary families, who came from the countryside of Hama, Homs, Idlib, Daraa and Ghouta, and were resettled in the area with the aim of changing the demographic of Afrin.
