People of Kobani protest demanding America and Russia show clear stance

Thousands of people in Kobani canton have gone today on a protest, denouncing the targeting of a Turkish reconnaissance plane, Tuesday, the home of the martyr Amina Waisi in the village of Hallinj on the southeastern outskirts of the city of Kobani, and killed 3 women.

The demonstration in Kobani was part of the angry mass reaction from the continued attacks of the Turkish occupation on the Kurdish areas in the north and east of Syria and in Iraq, amid a gloomy international silence.

The people gathered in the Free Women Roundabout and chanted slogans against the crimes committed by the Turkish occupation state against the Kurdish people and Kurdish women in particular.

The demonstration started from the Free Woman Roundabout, passing through the Freedom Square, and ending with the Martyr Agid Square, where the people stopped and gave several words there.

In a speech delivered on behalf of the Women’s Movement in the Euphrates region, Roshen Hajim said that the recent attack on women coincides with the approaching anniversary of the June 25 massacre committed by ISIS mercenaries in Kobani in 2015, and more than 233 civilians were killed.

Roshen said that "coinciding with the Kobani massacre, the Turkish occupation affirms that it is a partner in the crime that ISIS committed against our people once again during the bombing of civilian homes in the village of Hallinj."

Besides, co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration in the Euphrates canton, Muhammad Shaheen, delivered a speech in which he said, "Once again, the occupation hands reach the homes of civilians and kill those in it."

He added, "These attacks strike the wall of all international agreements concluded between the Autonomous Administration and international parties such as the United States of America and Russia."

Shaheen explained "the agreements stipulated that no party would encroach on the other, but that the Turkish occupation became known to violate international and international conventions."

Muhammad Shaheen pointed out that "diplomacy for us as the Autonomous Aministration of Northern and Eastern Syria is a strategic and fundamental principle, and we are all confident in diplomacy, but the Turkish occupation has expansionist goals and does not recognize political diplomatic means."

Aisha Effendi, a member of the General Council of the Democratic Union Party in the Euphrates, on behalf of the families of the martyrs, gave a speech in which she said, "The Turkish occupation aims to erase the Kurdish cultural identity and erase it through these crimes that it commits against our people."

"In the name of the mothers of the martyrs and the families of the martyrs, we extend our deepest condolences to the families of the three martyrs, Zahra Barkal, Amina Waissi, Hebun Mulla Khalil."

She concluded by saying, "We, the mothers of the martyrs, appeal to the international community, especially America and Russia, to present a clear position to the mothers of the martyrs about Turkish attacks on defenseless people."

While the regions of northern and eastern Syria and northern Iraq are witnessing brutal attacks by the Turkish killing machine, the international forums witness an abhorrent silence, inhuman alliances and plots against the peoples of the region in general.
