AA hands over 10 French orphans from ISIS families

A French delegation visited the Office of the External Relations Department of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria in the city of Qamishlo, to discuss the most prominent developments in northern and eastern Syria in particular and Syria in general.

The French delegation was headed by a representative of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eric Chevalier, and was received by the co-chair of the Office of Foreign Relations in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Abdel Karim Omar, his deputies Abeer to him, and Fanar al-Qaisit.

The meeting that took place between the two sides was closed to the media.

This is the fourth visit of Eric Chevalier to the regions of northern and eastern Syria, and the first after Turkish attacks on the regions of northern and eastern Syria on October 9, 2019.

After the meeting, Eric Chevalier thanked the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria for creating the conditions for such a meeting.

On his part, Abdel Karim Omar pointed to the most important points that took place during the meeting between the two sides, and he said: "We exchanged views on the situation in Syria in general and Autonomous Administration in particular."

Omar pointed out that the two sides exchanged views on the importance of the Kurdish-Kurdish dialogue for Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria, and the extent of its impact on future negotiations regarding Syria in international forums, and indicated that the two sides touched upon the implications of Caesar's Law on the regions of northern and eastern Syria, and said: " The area is witnessing a blockade after the closure of Til Koçer (al-Yarubiyah) crossing.

Omar indicated that the two sides stressed the need to open Til Koçer (al-Yarubiyah) crossing to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of the area, as there are thousands of displaced people in the area.

Abdel Karim Omar also stated that the two sides discussed the necessity of finding a political solution to the Syrian crisis after nearly 10 years of war and establishing a democratic Syria.

Omar said that the two sides discussed the situation of camps with mercenaries of ISIS, and the necessity of trying ISIS mercenaries who are in the detention centers of the SDF and Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. He said: "Mercenaries must be tried here in the north and east of Syria because all the evidence is here, and we asked our French friends for our support in this decision."

After the meeting, the External Relations Department of the Autonomous Administration handed over 10 orphaned children and humanitarian cases from the families of ISIS mercenaries to the French delegation.
