A former Egyptian minister: Turkey is now more dangerous to Arabs

Moussa said in an interview with "Sky News" channel, on Thursday evening, that Turkey "has moved militarily in recent days in 3 locations in the Arab world, in northern Iraq through air strikes, and in northern Syria with a military presence on the ground, and in Libya through an air, sea, and mercenary presence ".

Moussa added: "So we are facing a very dangerous development in the region, the latest of which is Turkey's ability to be present in more than one location at the same moment."

The former Egyptian minister considered that Turkey "is more dangerous to the Arab world than Iran due to its strategic capabilities, as it is a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and has a huge strategic relationship with the United States and the same with Russia, and also has interlocking interests with the European Union."

He expressed his belief that "what would have been possible for Turkey to do what it was doing in Libya, and to cross the waters of the Mediterranean, and to be present there with military and mercenary forces without the consent of the superpowers", stressing that Ankara at the same time benefited from this.

Moussa said that there are major powers present in Libya, such as the United States, Russia and European countries, and "it is not necessary that the interests of these powers be consistent, but they are unanimous in keeping the status quo as it is until things are managed."

He added that these forces "want Sarraj (the head of the Tripoli government) not to take everything, and Haftar (the leader of the Libyan National Army) does not take everything", as he put it.

Moussa pointed out that the current situation requires coordination between the Arab and African neighbors of Libya, because "the threat that exists there affects it."

The Secretary-General of the Arab League previously considered that the current situation is one of the worst things that the Arab world faced in the modern era, due to the "division of the Arabs and opposition to some of their interests.”
