Yazidi House's co-chair: Turkish attacks are extension of Ottoman decrees

The Co-chair of the Yazidi House in al-Jazeera region Leyla Ibrahim indicated that the aim of the recent attacks by the Turkish occupation army on the legitimate defense right zones, Mexmûr camp and Şengal in particular is to destabilize security and stability in Şengal and deprive it of its legitimate rights to life.

Leyla Ibrahim emphasized that the attacks of the Turkish state are not new, but an extension of the series of attacks against the Yazidi people hundreds of years ago. She said: "Today Erdogan completes what the Ottoman grandparents and his ally ISIS failed to annihilate the Yazidi people."

Turkey targets a defenseless and peaceful people

The Co-chair of the Yazidi House in al-Jazeera region indicated that the people of Şengal live on their land and never fired a shot at anyone, while Turkey bombs this people in an attempt to end its presence on their land, although it is still suffering from the attacks of its ally ISIS which launched attacks on Şengal in 2014.

Leyla Ibrahim explained that the Turkish state is hostile to all the peoples of the region; Kurds, Arabs and Syriacs, and said: "Turkey targets the Yazidi people because they are aware that the Yazidi people are the origin of the Kurdish people's culture, so they are trying to undermine them."

She called on the international community and the United Nations to break their silence towards the crimes and attacks of the Turkish occupation army against the peoples of the region, and indicated that their silence is tantamount to agreeing to killing an ancient and peaceful people.
