Polls point refer majority of Turkish citizens to reject presidential system of government

On the occasion of the centenary of the founding of the Turkish Parliament, the Strategic Research Consulting Company (SAD) conducted a poll in 76 Turkish provinces between 15 and 20 April this year on the preference of Turkish citizens between the presidential and parliamentary system, and their confidence in the two systems.

The poll dealt with a question about the main place and priority for solving the main problems. 64.6 percent of the respondents answered that it is parliament, 19.2 percent said it was the presidency, and 5.25 percent of respondents said it was municipalities.

The poll also revealed that 47.8 percent of respondents were dissatisfied with the implementation of the presidential government system, and only 32 percent of respondents were satisfied, while 53 percent of respondents said that the authority of the Turkish parliament was reduced when Turkey moved to the presidential system under Erdogan's government.

The Turkish President Recep Erdogan overthrew the government of Turkey in a referendum on amending the constitution, which was marred by many fraud operations, which took place on the sixteenth of April 2017, after a law passed by the Justice and Development Party to parliament early the same year.
