Mustafa: Keeping secret Covid-19 infected, crime against 5 million people

The co-chair of the Health Authority of the northeast Syria has described the Corona case of death as a "crime against 5 million people" and stressed that they will take strict measures to curb the pandemic outbreak.

The co-chair of the Health Authority of the northeast of Syria, Dr. Jiwan Mustafa, confirmed to ANHA agency that the coordinator of organizations in the north and east of Syria, Tim Yunk, confirmed via e-mail the existence of  COVID-19 death case, which was mentioned in the Health Authority statement in the Autonomous Administration on Friday. The infected died at the National Hospital in Qamishlo on April 2.

WHO and the Syrian Government have kept secret this case and it has not been mentioned until 16 April.

He described this secrecy as "a crime against 5 million people" in northern and eastern Syria".

He concluded that they would take strict measures to prevent the outbreak of the coronavirus in the region.

Today, the Health Authority in the Autonomous Administration issued a statement to the public. It noted that the World Health Organization (WHO) announced the death of a 53-year-old Al-Hasakeh resident of the Coronavirus at the National Hospital. Noting that this person was hospitalized on March 22 at a private hospital, and on 27 March he was referred to the National Hospital in Qamishlo. The patient's sample was sent to Damascus on March 29, and the patient died on 22 March. He diagnosed with the coronavirus yet WHO and the Syrian government have been silent about it ever since.
