Health Authority temporarily shuts down 7 private hospitals for not complying with decisions

The Health Authority of the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria issued a decision to temporarily close 7 hospitals in the cities of Qamishlo and Derik because they did not adhere to the specific medical tariff, and that all ambulances were not received in the circumstances of the curfew.

Based on the text of previous decisions regarding adherence to the specific tariff and reception of ambulances, in addition to a letter from the Directorate of Health of Derik and the Kurdish Red Crescent during this April, the Health Authority issued this decision that was issued yesterday, on Monday, April 13, and providing that Farman and Rahma hospitals be closed in the city of Qamishlo and Sulayman Salih Hospital in Derik, starting at twelve noon from the date of April 16 and until twelve noon from the twentieth of the same month.

The decision also included the closure of Nafez and Dar Al-Shifa hospitals in Qamishlo, from 20 to 24 April.

The Health Authority’s decision also stated that Yaqoub Salim Hospital for surgeries in Derik will be closed from Thursday 16/4 until the necessary restoration work is carried out, while Derik Health Directorate instructed the Salam Hospital in the city to receive only ambulatory cases.

The last clause of the decision also stated that the closure of these hospitals is a warning to the rest of the private hospitals in the region, and that "the Health Authority will take all measures to reduce greed and to comply with the instructions issued by the authority."
