Congratulatory telegram from TEV-DEM on occasion Akitu festival 

The Democratic Society Movement said in its telegram:

On the occasion of the first of April, the feast of the Babylonian Assyrian Syriac Chaldean (Akito Day) we extend to all the peoples of northern and eastern Syria, especially the Assyrian Chaldean Syriac people, congratulations on this authentic and ancient occasion in history.

This holiday came in light of what the world is witnessing during this year from the great confrontation and challenge against this deadly epidemic called "Corona virus". We appreciate the right to appreciate the commitment of the Assyrian Syriac Chaldean people to the precautionary measures and measures announced by the the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, which began from the 23rd of March in order to protect our society by limiting celebrations in homes and not conducting any large mass celebrations.

 Although this hurts us being a people, we love to celebrate our festivals and events in the popular way through mass celebrations and folk dances.

We also affirm that we must all exert more efforts, cooperation and solidarity, side by side in all fields through our commitment and our march on the principles of the democratic nation's philosophy of coexistence, brotherhood of peoples, and tireless work in order to preserve the gains made by our peoples thanks to the blood of our martyrs.
