If Turkey can occupy the land, it is unable to extinguish freedom's flame

The Women Council in North and East of Syria issued a written statement on the occasion of the second anniversary of the occupation of Afrin, which falls today.

The text of the statement:

"Two years of the bleeding wound left by the occupation of Afrin in the heart of the free Kurdish people and all free peoples. The 18^th of March marks the second anniversary of the occupation of Afrin by the usurping Turkish state backed by terrorist factions and a campaign called the Olive Branch, in a process that tarnished the olive branch".

The occupation of Afrin was the result of an unjust international conspiracy, in which many countries participated, either directly or silently with regard to what happened and is still happening in Afrin, Turkish occupier and its gangs practiced systematic destruction in order to change the features of the areas, starting from the olive trees and ending with the historical and archaeological ruins that Afrin has been characterized, passing through a demographic change to remove the Kurdish identity and obliterating all its features, and the resettlement of people from other Syrian regions as part of the demographic change operations and the re-sorting of Syrian society by the process of green buses produced by one of Astana's meetings in a deal al-Ghouta versus Afrin, an opportunity that granted the Syrian regime the opportunity to recover, in return for the Turkish state achieving gains in the region, on the top of which was the democratic project threatening its security and safety, as claimed.  

The wound of Afrin returned and bleeding in Serêkaniyê and Tel-Abyed after a year and a half and in a scenario similar to what happened in Afrin, and the Turkish war machine continues to claim the lives of innocent civilians, women, children and the elderly, and the Turkish plague continues to come on Syrian soil and occupies it one by one, without any commitment to international treaties and covenants without any respect for the sovereignty of a neighbor.

But even if the Turkish state can occupy the land and change its features, it is unable to change the lives of its residents and forcibly displaced people, and it will not be able to extinguish the flame of freedom in the conscience and heart of any Kurdish and any patriot, whatever the size of injustice and cruelty. And he will not die right behind demands."

The statement concluded with slogans: "Mercy for the martyrs of Afrin Serêkaniyê and Tel-Abyed, the right of return for the displaced ".
