The displaced: our situation better than anywhere else

The Turkish offensive with its mercenaries of the so-called "Syrian National Army" displaced more than 300,000 civilians from the areas of Seri Kania, Gire Spi/Tal Abyad, and other border areas, so the Autonomous Administration of the North and East of Syria in Hasaka city has allocated more than 64 centers to house the displaced.

As a result of the large numbers of displaced , which the shelters could no longer accommodate, the Autonomous Administration established Washu kani camp west of Hasaka center. It is home to more than 6,500 displaced.

 150 displaced families are living in reception tents. the camp administration and the Kurdish Red Crescent could not set up tents for these families.

 Aisha Mohammed, a displaced , from Seri Kania, said: "We  abandoned our homes because of the Turkish occupation. at first, we abandoned Al-Manajir village due to the continuous shelling , we headed towards  Washukani camp."

The displaced are in need of aid

"For nearly ten days, my family and I have been in the reception tent, our situation here is tragic, we need a lot of necessary supplies and heating materials," Aisha said.

"Our situation here is much better than a place where mercenaries are present and the bombing and injustice continue. We have all the  available services in administration capacity, but there is a great shortage of heating materials,"  Ahmed Mohammed said, a displaced from the Al-Dashisha village in tel Tamer.  

Like other families   that are still living in the reception tents, Mohammed asked a tent for his family.

 Like thousands of displaced people in the border areas, they also share their only demand to live in security and safety, and to return to their homes after pushing the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries out.

 The  administration of the camp refers that their staying in reception tents because they cannot  set up tents due to the weather, which do not allow  the workshops to operate inside the camp.
