Demands to stop violations on NE Syria

Civil society organizations and some human rights activists have called on the United Nations to stop the attacks on northern and eastern Syria, and to ensure the safe return of the displaced to their areas.

Human rights organizations in the Al-Jazeera region issued a statement to the public opinion about the violations and crimes carried out by the Turkish aggression state with its mercenaries in the northern and eastern regions of Syria, and the statement was read in Washakani camp by the human rights activist Bashira Jamal al-Din.

The statement included:

“We commemorate the efforts made by humanity seventy-one years to preserve human dignity and rights, and after this time has passed since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we find ourselves before this tragic situation that afflicted the people of northern and eastern Syria after the occupation of the Turkish state and the loyal armed factions displaced them from their areas.

We cannot say that there are human rights in light of the barbarism and aggression of the Turkish state and its loyal tyrants who call themselves the Syrian National Army, and abuse the bodies of the Syrians, kill the children, women and the elderly of the Syrians, displace them from their homes, loot and steal their property, and the Turkish state that is a member of the United Nations body, which has pledged to the international community to observe and guarantee the realization of human rights, has completely violated these rights and assaulted the safe residents of their areas only in order to achieve its goals and interests at the expense of the people of the regions of northern Syria.

So we from this camp, Washokani camp, and as humanitarian civil society organizations and the group of human rights activists appeal to the United Nations and demand the global conscience to stop the attacks on northern and eastern Syria, and improve the humanitarian situation of the camps until the residents are returned to their homes and areas, and to ensure the return of the displaced to their areas safely after removing the factions loyal to the occupied Turkish state, ensuring justice for all women and children in all the affected areas in Syria.

We also call on all concerned international organizations and bodies to prevent the Turkish state from changing demographics of the regions of northern and eastern Syria, and we call on all women's human and civil organizations to carry out their duty to consider the situation of women and children who are forcibly displaced, and who now live in camps that lack the lowest essentials of life.”
