SDC, PYD's co-chairs: Priority is the liberation Syrian lands before drafting constitution

The first meeting of the so-called Constitutional Committee was held on 30 October amid the suspension of 10 members, the presence of representatives of the Syrian regime and the so-called opposition and others on behalf of civil society, sponsored by (Russia, Turkey and Iran) and the absence of representatives of more than 5 million Syrian citizens in northern and eastern of Syria.

In this regard, the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council Amina Omar commented, "We are not interested in the decisions of this committee because there are no representatives of northern and eastern Syria in this committee," she said.

The Constitutional Committee is illegal

Amina Omar explained that the absence of representatives of 5 million citizens of the Syrian people in the north-east of Syria is intended by the parties and agendas sponsoring this committee, based on the right of the people of northeastern Syria to have representatives. The liberation of their areas of ISIS mercenaries and others, and organized themselves within the Autonomous Administration and local councils, so this committee is illegal because it does not represent all components of the Syrian people.

Regarding the reasons for excluding representatives of the north and east of Syria from the constitutional committee, Amina Omar pointed out that the Syrian Democratic Council has repeatedly tried and exerted great efforts to have a role in the constitutional committee, but the Turkish veto and others obstructed it. They have no representation, and they don't consider Autonomous Administration as of the existing opposition. "

Turkey is trying to occupy Syria and participates in drafting its constitution

The PYD's co-chair, Aisha Hasso, explained that the meeting of the Constitutional Committee was held in conjunction with the Turkish occupation attacks on areas of northeastern Syria "This thing is very interesting, Turkey wants to occupy Syria under false pretexts and arguments how to participate in the drafting of the Syrian Constitution.

Aisha Hasso stressed that the Syrian Democratic Council and the Autonomous Administration and all the parties present on the land of northeastern Syria will not recognize the results and outputs of the Constitutional Committee and are not abided to the lack of participation of key representatives of the Syrian people, including

"Instead of discussing the constitutional committee, it is better to discuss how to liberate Syrian territory from the Turkish occupation, which is now launching attacks with all weapons on northeastern Syria and encroaching on the Syrian state's sovereignty," said Hasso.
