After Russian delegation, al-Moualem in Tehran.. Iran rejects Israeli raids on its positions

The Secretary of the Iranian National Security Council Ali Shamkhani during a meeting with the Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem expressed his country's rejection of the Israeli attacks on its positions in Syria and added, "The Syrian government considers that it is its duty to maintain the security of the Iranian forces on the Syrian territory."

Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Shamkhani said during his meeting with the Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem who visited Tehran on Tuesday that his country rejects the "Israeli aggression" against Syria, and considers it a violation of the Syrian sovereignty.

He added, "The response to the Israeli aggression on Syria will be a lesson to the leaders of Israel. In the event of the continued Israeli aggression on Damascus, taken measures will be activated to deter and respond properly."

He added, "The Syrian government considers that it is its duty to maintain the security of the Iranian forces in Syria."

He added, "The Iranian military advisers in Syria came at the invitation of the Syrian government and their mission is to strengthen the capabilities of the Syrian armed forces."

He also met the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Jawad Zarif who said in a statement, "The Zionist entity has recognized its support for the terrorists on the Syrian territories," stressing the need for coordination and cooperation among the countries of the area.

A Russian delegation had visited Tehran before Walid al-Moualem. These visits came after a talk of the Iranian dissatisfaction about the Russian's turning a blind eye to the Israeli raids on the Iranian positions in Syria and the reports of a Russian-US understanding on the departure of these forces from Syria.
