Al-Jazeera Tempest campaign goes on in the final phase of "Battle to defeat terrorism" continues against IS mercenaries, where SDF and in the last of the mercenary sites have been fighting in eastern Deir ez-Zor to liberate the civilians from the practices of the mercenaries.

IS mercenaries who have remained in an area of ​​about 5 square kilometers in al-Bagouz area are using civilians as human shields to protect themselves against the blows of Syrian Democratic Forces fighters.

A military source told ANHA correspondent, "The number of mercenaries who have remained in the ranks of IS in the east of Deir ez-Zor is estimated at two thousand mercenaries, mostly foreign nationals, who use civilians as human shields."

The source also said that the man who heads the remnants of IS in al-Bagouz is "a Saudi amir called al-Jazrawi", while an amir has been killed by fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces during the earlier clashes.

While a civilian who was liberated by the fighters among the thousands of civilians who have been released said that thousands of civilians are still in the hands of IS mercenaries and their lives are threatened with danger as they use them as human shields to escape from SDF strikes.
