Elimination of 23 mercenaries , destruction of 18 sites for a period of 24 hours

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces(SDF) today issued a statement to the public, in which it revealed the results of the last 24 hours of the battle to defeat terrorism, which is taking place in Deir ez-Zor countryside.

The statement said:

"Our fighters launched a large-scale attack on the sites and points of IS terrorists in " al-Shefa " town and its surroundings, violent clashes broke out, killing a number of terrorists. Our fighters advanced 2 km. They also established 24 new points.

On another front of this axis, strong clashes broke out between our fighters and elements of the terrorist organization, which resulted in the death and wounding of a number of terrorists. Our fighters advanced 1.5 km and established 35 points.

Our military engineering teams have begun to remove and dismantle the mines planted by the terrorists in the area.

The clashes broke out in another axis, which lasted for several hours, in which a number of terrorists were killed and wounded, while the rest fled, and our forces made a distance of 2 km and was able to install 14 new points.

In addition, members of the terrorist organization launched an attack on the positions of our forces on another front of this axis, where they used all types of heavy and light weapons, including Esbijeno missiles and cars loaded with Dushka weapons, but were confronted by our fighters, and killed a number of dead and wounded in their ranks, Our fighters were injured and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Our fighters carried out a combing operation in the area, in conjunction with the dismantling of a number of mines by engineering teams.

Sporadic clashes were continuing on all fronts of this axis.

During the clashes, a number of our fighters martyred, while others were wounded.

Final Outcome of Clashes:

- Number of terrorist deaths: 23 / Terrorist.

- Terrorist casualties: destruction of 18 terrorist sites, demolition of a mine factory, destruction of  a mine site, destruction of heavy machinery, destruction of 1 fuel tank.

- Number of strikes by International Coalition aircraft: 22 / Air strikes.

- The number of wounded from our fighters: (24) fighters wounded .

- The number of martyrs of our forces: 6 / martyrs.
