Kobanî's intellectuals: Turkey's goal is to create strife among components

All components of society in the north and east of Syria demonstrate strict attitudes towards the Turkish state's threats to the region, and affirm their rejection of the Turkish occupation.

The intellectuals of Kobanî city also stressed that the Turkish threats aim at prolonging the crisis and creating new conflicts in the region.

Mazloum Jemmo, the member of Kobanî's Intellectuals Union said, "After the failure of the agreement that took place between Russia and Turkey in Idlib, Turkey is now planning to deport the mercenaries present there to the north and east of Syria to threaten the stability and security of the region."

Mazloum Jemmu pointed to the US decision to withdraw from Syria in light of the threats that are taking place in the region, and he noted that the aim of the threats is to create conflicts in Syria, extend the crisis there, spread panic among the safe people and create sedition among the peoples of the Arab, Kurdish and Syriac components.

At the end of his speech, he stressed that the political parties need to unite and hold a Kurdistan National Conference to be able to stand in the face of the threats against the Kurdish gains.

The member of the Intellectuals Union in Kobanî canton Hami Messi said, "The Kurdish people extend their hand to everybody in order to establish a peaceful life and co-existence, but some countries, especially Turkey, stand against this project."

Messi called for the unification of the Kurdish class and standing side by side to repel any attack on the peoples of the region.

Turkey continues to threaten to launch an attack to occupy the north and east of Syria. The international community must bear its responsibilities and carry out its duties to prevent the recurrence of new massacres such what occurred in Afrin.
