In sit-in tent: Self-reliance is important to reach Ocalan's freedom

The Martyrs' Families Council in al-Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood organized a sit-in under the slogan "No to the Isolation on the Leader Ocalan and Attack on North and East Syria" in front of the council's headquarters.

The members of the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) and the communes, as well as political parties and blocs such as the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD), the Future Syria Party and the Democratic Union Party (PYD) visited the sit-in tent on its first day.

Under the tent, several speeches were delivered by Wedad Bakr in the name of the neighborhood's communes, Mohammed Khalil on behalf of the Martyrs' Families Council, Aref Abdo on behalf of PYD and Roshan Mohammed on behalf of MSD.

All the speeches touched upon the resistance of Leyla Guven who is held in the Turkish prisons and her hunger strike activity that has been ongoing since more than a month, "Despite all the pressures, Leyla Guven will not surrender to the practices of the Turkish occupier, demanding the freedom of the leader Ocalan."

The speeches referred to Erdogan's threats to occupy the areas of north and east of Syria as the speakers said, "These threats aim to create a state of strife among the peoples of the area, and Erdogan's threats will not undermine the morale of the people who gain their strength from the martyrs' sacrifices and resistance and from the leader's thought and approach."

The words confirmed that the victories achieved were thanks to the struggle according to the ideology and philosophy of the Kurdish people leader Abdullah Ocalan, and resistance and defense will remain among the priorities of our will until we end the occupation.

The speeches also confirmed that it is necessary for the people to depend on themselves and be developed for the sake of the leader Ocalan's freedom and to stand against the Turkish fascist practices.

The activities of the first day of the sit-in tent ended with chanting the slogans that demand Ocalan's freedom.

It is worth mentioning that the sit-in activity will continue till Friday.
