Houria suffered a lot, Kongra Star restored her self-confidence

Syrian women suffered from the negative aspects of the ongoing war for many years. Many of them lost their families, their children, they were victims of this war, which marginalized Syrian society, but the women of North Syria had a different situation, as they had the opportunity to organize themselves.

Many women's institutions were opened. In al-Sheikh Maksoud neighborhood of Aleppo, women managed to organize themselves and with the activation of women's institutions as Kongra Star which sought to assist and organize every woman in the neighborhood, such as the citizen Houria Mohammed.

Who is Houria?

The citizen Houria Mohammed, 46 years old, from al-Sheikh Maksoud neighborhood, studied at the Commercial Institute in Aleppo and received the certificate.

She lives with her mother in a small house. Her father is dead. She has 11 brothers, including seven sisters. All of them are married and live outside the neighborhood, some of them are abroad.

In addition to her educational achievements, she had worked in a clothing company in Aleppo before the crisis. Her work was the only source of livelihood for her and her mother.

During the crisis, she had lost her job to become one of the victims of the war.

Her mother was sick, and due to the lake of the life accessories, she was enforced to send her to a relative house because of her critical health and inability to eat as a result of breaking in her jaw and suffering from chronic diseases.

Kongra Star helped her to solve her problem

Since its establishment, the members have undertaken the task of conducting periodic and intensive visits to the neighborhood's women to learn about their conditions and provide assistance to them, in addition to organize them

They reached to the citizen Houria, and solved her problem and provide a job for her in the Finance Section on the basis of her scientific certificate.

Organization is a turning point in my life

"After joining Kongra Star, my lifestyle changed, from the intellectual training which helped me to know more about women and the role of the leader Ocalan on dealing with women," says Houria

At the end of her speech, she said that all women should rely on themselves only and trust their abilities.
