QAMISHLO

Dêrik area clans' notables have explained that the government of justice and development (AKP) through its attacks tries to hit all values and humanitarian principles and international laws.

The heads of the Arab, Kurdish, Assyrian, Syriac, Yazidi, and Clans Council have gathered before the center of the Clans Council in Dêrik and released a joint statement denouncing Turkish threats.

The statement was read by the administrator of Religion Scholars' Union Sheikh Sinan Ahmed.

The text of the statement reads as follows:

"We condemn and denounce in the strongest terms the Turkish attacks led by its tyrannical President Erdogan and his Justice and Development Party over Syria in general and its north and east in particular.

The government of justice and development through its attacks strikes all the values and principles of humanity and international laws, and under the eyes and ears of all countries near and far, thus violating  the rights of human beings and stone and the destruction of the state and society, making them incubator of terrorism from all countries, especially our areas and all its components, the goal is to eliminate the gains made by martyrs’ blood and the struggle of the heroes and heroines of our children.

We appeal to the United Nations, human rights organizations and the Security Council to undertake their humanitarian duty towards a peaceful people and a safe area that has embraced thousands of displaced Syrians and Iraqis.

We also call on the Syrian government to defend the sovereignty of its territory and its people against this tyrant and his agents."
