People of al-Hasaka ended the hunger strike with a mass demo in which they rejected the policies of the Turkish state and called on the international community to intervene to lift the isolation of Ocalan.

AL-HASAKAH

Residents of al-Hasaka city concluded today the hunger strike called by Kongra Star and the Democratic Union Party in solidarity with parliamentarian Leyla Guven and condemned the isolation imposed on Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan

Hundreds of people from al-Hasaka joined the hunger strikers on the second day of the event.

The demo toured the main street in al-Hasaka and when the demonstrators arrived in Khetu Square, Democratic Union Party member Hussein Sino read the statement issued on behalf of the hunger strikers.

The statement said, "The decision to carry out the hunger strike is a struggle against the chauvinist policies of the Justice and Development Authority against the leader of the Kurdistan people, Abdullah Ocalan."

At the end of the statement, the statement called on "human rights organizations, international amnesty, the United Nations and the European Union and every institution concerned to do their duty to reject the destructive policies of the Turkish fascism ."

The hunger strike lasted two consecutive days, and 250 people participated in the event.
