'What Ocalan said years ago is happening on ground'

As a result of an international conspiracy, the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan was arrested on February 15, 1999. For several years, the Turkish occupation state has been imposing strict isolation on him and preventing his family and lawyers from meeting him with false arguments. Despite this isolation, the people, in particular women, still adopt his thought as Ocalan gave women and their freedom a great importance in his struggle.

During the visit of the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan to Syria and Lebanon, he met with many people who still remember small details about him, including the citizen Shadia Haj Aliko from Afrin who met with Ocalan twice. Shadia says that despite the isolation imposed on Ocalan, the people of the Middle East in full are still adhering to his principles.

Shadia recalled her meeting with Ocalan, "In the first meeting with the leader, we talked about the will and the strength that must be demonstrated until the desired freedom would be achieved. The leader said that the liberation movement started with six people, and as a result of their belief in the goals that they have adopted, the movement has been great and the peoples of the Middle East belief it."

She added that the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan had expected that wars would erupt in the region, targeting the Kurdish people in the first place, "The leader at that time was urging the need to unite the Kurdish rank and organizing the people so they would be able to confront the enemy."

She said that we will remain owed Ocalan because he is the only one who believes in the freedom of women and dedicated his struggle to liberate them and restore their stolen rights by the male regimes that governed the society.

Shadia condemned the isolation imposed on Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan, calling on the world countries to move and put an end to the Turkish occupation practices against the Kurdish people and all the people of northern and eastern Syria.
