SDF inflicted IS with heavy losses, achieving further progress

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) issued a statement on the outcome of the military operations of the battle to defeat terrorism for the past 24 hours.

The center said during the statement that their forces have achieved more victory over IS mercenaries and inflicted them with heavy losses in addition to the liberation of more sites.

The text of the statement is,

"Al-Baguz axis: Our fighters launched an attack on the terrorists' positions, which resulted in leaving a number of killed and injured in their ranks. They advanced in this axis and were able to install 10 new points while the International Air Force carried out two air strikes targeting the terrorists' positions.

On the other side of this axis, our fighters advanced a distance of 1 km and were able to install 17 new points after they launched a heavy attack on the terrorists' positions, killing and injuring a number of them.

In another side of this axis, in the evening, our forces launched an attack on the points and fortifications of the terrorists, and clashes irrupted, in which a number of terrorists were killed and others got wounded, and our fighters made a progress of 1 km and managed to install 14 new points. In an attempt by the terrorist organization to initiate to the attack, they shelled the positions of our fighters with RPGs. Concurrently, the Coalition's forces shelled the positions of the terrorists with mortars amid launching several raids on their positions.

The intermittent clashes continued on all fronts of this axis, and there were interspersed with shelling with mortars.

2 - Hajin axis: Violent clashes occurred this morning, following an attack by our fighters, killing a number of terrorists and wounding others as the bodies of some of them kept at the hands of our fighters with their weapons. The terrorists bombed the positions of our forces from afar with mortars and artillery, but the bombardment did not result in any damage to our forces.

Our fighters carried out a combing operation in the area in which they had advanced in the morning. They found a number of laptops and a number of other documents.

The terrorist organization launched an attack at 9:00 am on the positions and points of our forces, using all types of heavy, medium and light weapons, including Dushka, and our fighters confronted it. The clashes lasted for several hours, during which our fighters killed and wounded a number of them, and the rest of them fled. Immediately, our military engineering teams began dismantling and removing a number of mines that the terrorists had planted in the area.

On the other front of this axis, violent clashes broke out between our fighters and a group of the terrorist organization just before mid-day and lasted for several hours, in which the terrorists used Dushka weapons and car bombs, two of them were detonated. They also attempted to attack with motorcycles, but most of the elements of the terrorist group were killed, the rest fled the area of ​​clashes.

In the evening, our fighters made progress on this axis and were able to install a number of new points following an attack against the terrorists' points and positions. During the advance, a suicide terrorist attempted to approach our fighters and detonate himself, but he was targeted from afar and was killed. While the International Coalition's aircraft carried out several air strikes against the terrorists' sites, which resulted in leaving a number of killed and wounded in their ranks.

On the other side of this axis, our fighters launched an attack on the terrorists' positions, killing and injuring a number of them. The terrorists bombed the positions of our forces with heavy weapons and mortars and tried to prepare for a broad attack, but it was also thwarted.

These intermittent clashes continued on several fronts of this axis until the preparation of this outcome.

3- The outcome of the clashes:

- The number of the terrorists' killed: 63 terrorists.

- The terrorists' casualties: 2 car bombs, 10 terrorists' sites, 5 terrorists' roads, and 1 terrorist tunnel were destroyed.

- The number of strikes launched by the International Coalition's aircraft: 31 air strike."
