16 reports documented occupation's crimes, humanitarian organizations still ignore

The Kurdish Red Crescent, Afrin branch has played a major role in documenting the crimes of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries against the people of Afrin through its initiative to open several medical points in the districts and the center of Afrin canton to reach the wounded at the appropriate time and prepare comprehensive reports on the violations of the damage inflicted by the occupation in addition to sending approximately 16 reports to 12 concerned parties specialized to save the rights of the civilians.

After Afrin canton has been exposed to all kinds of shelling by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries since 20, January, 2018, inflicting massive destruction to Afrin canton, the Kurdish Red Crescent has been deployed in all aspects and through their humanitarian tasks, they have been able to prepare 8 reports in Arabic and English documented with pictures about the mass massacres committed against entire families. A report on the women victims, a report on children and victims, on the targeting of Midanki Dam, targeting the water purification station in the village of Matina, the victims of suffocation with gas suspected chlorine gas in the village of Aranda, the affected Christian families in Afrin, and the targeting of the medical points belonging to the Kurdish Red Crescent, including the targeting of ambulances belonging to the Crescent.

After the documentation of these crimes, the Kurdish Red Crescent sent reports to the concerned parties, including media institutions in the Middle East and the world, the International Alliance Chamber, the Autonomous Administration Offices in Germany, France and Belgium to send them to organizations in these countries, the British Foreign Office, US Senate, Medco International Pharmaceuticals ,Germany, Switzerland, UNICEF, Oxfam Organization for Medicine, as well as Left Parties in Germany and other important figures in the world.

While the US Senate prepared a special session to discuss the Red Crescent's report that was documented by video.

The work of the Red Crescent has not stopped documenting what was happening in Afrin only, but they worked on preparing reports about Afrin residents who were forcibly exited from their homes heading towards to al-Shahba, among them the impact the armed conflict on the children in Afrin, the educational situation in Afrin before the attacks, the educational situation during the attacks, the violations and massacres against children during and after the attacks, the health and educational status of students in al-Shahba areas.

The report also documented the names of the victims who lost their lives at the hands of the occupation army and its mercenaries by committing 11 massacres against the inhabitants, in which 33 civilians were martyred and 81 injured, as well as 87 children,  93 women and 471 men were injured due to the Turkish air strikes and artillery shelling on their homes in the villages and districts of  the canton. These figures refer to the statistics of the Kurdish Red Crescent during the performance of their humanitarian and medical functions in Afrin in 58 days.

In addition to a detailed explanation of the injuries and massacres that took place in Afrin canton within the reports prepared.

For her part, the member of the Kurdish Red Crescent Zilan Sido who participated with the rest of the cadre of the Crescent in transporting the injured from under the bombardment and providing them with the medical treatment and said, "After launching the attack on the first day, we have divided ourselves as groups in the areas and the center of Afrin. We struggled to save the injured as a humanitarian action."

Noting that they had worked to establish a committee of three members to carry out the documentary work.

Similarly, documenting the massacres and injuries prepared and sent to organizations and concerned parties, Zilan said, "Reports issued by our colleagues have been discussed in the US Congress, but they were in vain, so they did not send us the medicines that have priority for the presence in al-Shahba.

It is noteworthy that the Kurdish Red Crescent, the branch of Afrin has medical points in several areas, including Tel Rifat, and in the camps of Berxwedan and Serdem in addition to a medical point in the area of Sherawa and the allocation of a committee to continue the documentary works of the situations of the people of Afrin in al-Shahba canton.

Afrin canton's people presented complaints to the European Court regarding the violations and massacres of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries against the people of Afrin since the attacks of 20 January 2018; the shelling of property, kidnapping, killing and torturing after they forcibly left Afrin heading towards al-Shahba canton. The European Court replied that the complaints must first be filed to the Turkish courts.
