Ocalan's brother: Laws do not apply in Imrali prison

Ocalan's family and his lawyers have not received information about him for a long time. At the last time his family wanted to visit him, the Turkish authorities refused to do so under the pretext of "precautionary measures." The authorities also rejected several requests by the family and lawyers, arguing that the boat heading there broke down or the situation was urgent.

The Turkish Public Prosecution in Bursa issued a decree prohibiting the lawyers of all Imrali prisoners from meeting their lawyers for six months.

The situation in Imrali has gone beyond isolation

"According to the law, every prisoner has the right to meet his/her lawyers or family, but neither the family nor the lawyers can meet with Ocalan. Three years ago, they did not allow to meet with him, and every day they justify this under a pretext far from the truth, these arguments are unacceptable, the Turkish state is contrary to international law, the lawyers of Ocalan and his family must meet him, and this is his right, we must always get information about the leader's status

The European Court of Human Rights had discussed the case filed against Ocalan and issued a statement on 27 September that there was insufficient evidence to prove that Ocalan was being tortured.

"If the rights are to protect everyone, it should protect Ocalan and his comrades as well, the European Court of Human Rights and the Committee Against Torture do not enforce the laws in Imrali," Mohammed Ocalan said "The court's decision is a political decision, not based on rights.
