Religion Scholars Union prepares to establish Islamic Democratic Conference

QAMISHLO

The meeting was held at Zana Hall in Qamishlo city. Islamic religious figures, Christians and Yazidis in al-Jazeera region, intellectuals, writers and independent personalities, political parties within the region, as well as a delegation of Deir ez-Zor sheikhs, the co-chairs of the Executive Body of the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) Gharib Hesso and Zelal Jigar and the Democratic Union Party’s co-chair Shahuz Hassen participated in the meeting.

The meeting started with holding a minute of silence. After that, the co-chair of the Democratic Society Movement's Executive Body Gharib Hesso delivered a speech and congratulated the participants on holding the meeting of the Muslim Scholars Union in al-Jazeera region and wished them success and reaching important results during the meeting.

Hesso said that the participation of Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs and Yazidis in the meeting shows the brotherhood and co-existence in our areas.

Hesso explained that the Islamic religion is a community religion that aims at serving the society and humanity, but the authorities used it for their own interests and he added, "The wars in the Middle East and the authoritarian regimes use religion to fight the peoples."

Turkey kills and loots in the name of Islam

Gharib Hesso also noted that Turkey and its mercenaries who pretend Islam are killing and violating the sanctity of Afrin people and committing massacres against the unarmed people under the cover of the Islamic religion. Hesso called on the components and religions to organize their ranks to defeat the occupiers who use the Islamic religion as a pretext to exterminate the people.

After the speech of Gharib Hesso, a five-person bureau was formed to manage the meeting. During the meeting, it has been discussed that the clerics need to unite their ranks to face all the dangers that threaten the area.

The attendees pointed out that all the clerics must join the conference that is suggested to be held later this year to work on clarifying the true pillars of Islam.
