Clean-up campaign launched in Deir ez-Zor's countryside

The Services and Municipalities Committee launched the "Euphrates Campaign" to clean up the western and eastern countryside from the accumulated dirt on the main roads and subways, under the supervision of the Civil Council in Deir ez-Zor.

Heavy machineries began to work to remove the accumulated rubble from rubbish that had accumulated as a result of the 7 years of neglect and the lack of authority responsible for cleaning things which led to the cutting and destruction of roads which caused the suffering of the people in addition to the diseases that spread.

Deir ez-Zor Civil Council and the service committees launched the "Euphrates Campaign" during a meeting.

Deir ez-Zor Civil Council allocated a place for the transfer of waste in the desert, and the machineries dug a hole of 15 m as deep to throw the rubbish and then fill them to prevent the spread of diseases.

Deir ez-Zor Civil Council has allocated 197 garbage containers, 47 small vehicles to collect the remains of rubble and waste.

Yasser al-Awad, director of the services committee of Deir ez-Zor Civil Council noted that, "The project started several days ago and will continue for a period of five months."

It is noteworthy that the cost of the campaign is estimated at 282 thousand dollars, and the campaign also aims to distribute guidance to the people of the area to keep the environment clean and not throw dirt and waste in public places.
