Raids stopped , negotiations in Daraa

Daraa city after midnight on Thursday - Friday, witnessed a cautious calm, including continuous rocket fire by the regime forces on al-Naima town, located in the eastern sector of Daraa countryside, amid the absence of warplanes and helicopters from the atmosphere of the province, the last to fly over the area on Friday morning  of July 6/2018.

Hours later, the shelling completely stopped on Daraa province, where the warplanes, helicopters and the security forces stopped shelling the countryside of Daraa after dozens of air raids and artillery attacks on the city and the towns .

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the bombing stopped in conjunction with the launch of a new round of negotiations between the Russian side and representatives of Daraa province, to reach a solution on the fate of the province and the Syrian south.

The Observatory pointed out that the bombing stopped and launching of the negotiations process coincided with the advance of the regime forces and its loyalists on the Syrian-Jordanian border and enabled it to move forward and impose its control over al-Mutaiya area near the border crossing with Jordan, which is about 3 km away from Naseeb border crossing and the free zone.

Witnesses near Naseeb crossing on the Jordanian border with Syria told Reuters they saw armored vehicles and a tank with Russian flag heading towards the crossing on Friday.

They reported that they spotted a convoy on a military road leading to the crossing controlled by armed groups.

The armed groups in southern Syria announced on Wednesday "failed" negotiations with the Russian side because of the dispute over the mechanism of handing over the militants heavy weapons ..

Bombings and raids have left 159 civilians, including 32 children and 33 civilians, dead since June 19, when regime forces launched a military operation in southern Syria to control it.
