Lavrov expects discussing all Syrian issues in Putin-Trump summit

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that all issues concerning Syria are likely to be discussed at the summit that would be held by the Russian President Vladimir Putin with his US counterpart Donald Trump.

Lavrov added that Moscow and Washington agreed to meet the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo after the summit.

Lavrov who was speaking at a joint press conference with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman al-Safadi said that Moscow hopes that Putin and Trump would witness what he called frank dialogue on all issues that negatively affect the US-Russian relations.

The Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi reported Russia that the political dialogue and ceasefire are among the priorities in southern Syria, saying that the situation could lead to a humanitarian catastrophe.

Al-Safadi added, "The situation in southern Syria is in great concern and must be resolved as soon as possible."

Al-Safadi also pointed out that dozens of trucks loaded with humanitarian aid were waiting for the Syrian permit to cross.
