Water unit in al-Jarniya works to repair water pumps

The residents of al-Jarniya town and its surrounding villages suffer from severe problems as the water pumps in the area have come offline, and the water unit of al-Jarniya town is working to avoid problems.

Tawi and Tanira west of al-Jarniya town located on the banks of the Euphrates Lake are considered the main stations which contain 4 pumps, each of which has a capable of 60 horsepower. The water is drawn to the station of al-Jarniya which in turn supplies about 100 villages with drinking water.

Hawar news agency (ANHA) interviewed the co-chair of the water unit Mahmoud Obeid Othman, and he stressed, "Three pumps have been out of commission, and that reflected negatively on the process of pumping water and led to rationing the number of hours of supplying water to more than 40 villages and farms."

Othman added, "The workshop worked day and night to repair the pumps according to the unit's capabilities," adding that one pump has been repaired in Tanira station, while the rest have been sent to a workshop specialized in engine-winding."

The co-chair of the water unit Mahmoud Othman concluded his speech by calling on the people to be patient with the rationing hours, noting that the next two weeks will witness a final and radical solution to the problem after repairing the remaining two pumps has been nearly completed."

It should be noted that the water rationing hours were not caused by the faults that hit the three pumps, and even months before the Turkish authorities deliberately to restrain the Euphrates water through its dams.
