Al-Raqqa people suffer from sanitation problem

The residents of al-Raqqa suffer from a lack of basic services such as sanitation due to the interruption of water pumping during the displacement of the people from the city, as well as the tunnel networks that were dug by IS mercenaries.

After pumping water to more than 75% of the city's neighborhoods, it was found that 60% of the sewage network is destroyed and needs to be maintained.

As a result of the terrorist practices carried out by IS mercenaries and digging tunnels in the city to implement their terrorist plans, 60% of the sewage network was destroyed.

The head of the people's municipality in al-Raqqa Ahmed Ibrahim said, "After solving the water problem, we are now working hard to solve the problem of sanitation, but the municipality's capabilities is weak."

Ibrahim pointed out that there is one pressure machine in the municipality, and there are dozens of demands on the pressure machine daily.

Ibrahim appealed to the humanitarian and international organizations to provide support to the people’s municipality which works to serve the people.
