The harvesting of barley and wheat began in al-Karama area where farmers resort to manual harvesting as it costs less than the automatic harvesting.

The cost of the automatic harvesting is between 4,000 and 5,000 S.P, while the wages of one worker in the manual manner is 1,000 S.P compared to 6 working hours.

The farmer Ismail al-Sheikh said, "The crops production rate for this year has not been clear yet, but in the result of the lack of rains and the low water level of the dam as a result of Turkey's impoundment of water, the production would not be as good as the previous years."
