Directorate of Agriculture prevented fishing
The Directorate of Agriculture of the Economic Body has issued a circular prohibiting fishing in the breeding season. "Fishing and trade are strictly prohibited during the period 1/3/2018 and 15/6/2018 as this period is a period of breeding and nesting for fish, and fishing in this period leads to waste of fish resources and is a pillar of the local economy" .
AL-TABQA - The resolution aims to directly protect the fish wealth that is the source of livelihood for many families along the Euphrates River.
The Directorate of Agriculture has taken several deterrent decisions against violators of its decision.
The work of this circular began in practice where a group of violinists who were fishing was arrested in the town of al-Jirnya in the northern countryside of al-Tabqa.
