11 Australian ISIS-linked families return to Roj Camp due to technical issues after departure

Eleven Australian families comprising 34 individuals affiliated with ISIS returned to Roj Camp, administered by the autonomous administration, after departing for Australia due to technical issues resulting from incomplete coordination between their relatives and the authorities of the Syrian Interim Government, which prevented the completion of repatriation procedures as scheduled.

This morning, the administration of Roj Camp, where families of ISIS mercenaries are detained, organized a trip to repatriate 11 families comprising 34 individuals, the majority of whom are women and children to Australia, after their relatives arrived at the camp to receive them. The necessary formal procedures were completed in coordination between the camp administration and the families’ relatives in Australia.

The families had already departed the camp earlier today in preparation for completing the repatriation process. However, they returned shortly afterward due to technical reasons related to incomplete coordination between the Australian side, their relatives, and the authorities of the Syrian Interim Government in Syria.

Sources stated that the relevant authorities on both sides are currently working to resolve the technical and administrative issues that prevented the completion of the transfer process, in preparation for rescheduling the flight at a later time once the necessary arrangements have been finalized.
