The councils of the Zenobia Women’s Gathering in the Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor Cantons issued a joint statement today, attended by dozens of residents, regarding the recent developments in Aleppo.

In the statement, the councils expressed their solidarity with the people of Aleppo while also voicing deep concern for the safety of civilians there.

The statement added: "This attack poses a grave threat to the lives of innocent civilians, particularly women and children, who are especially subjected to the most heinous forms of violations and crimes."

The council emphasized in the statement the necessity of unity and solidarity among all national forces to achieve peace and stability in Syria.

On Wednesday morning, mercenaries from Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (Jabhat al-Nusra) launched an attack on villages and rural areas around the city of Aleppo, during which they managed to take control of large neighborhoods in Aleppo with little resistance from the forces of the Damascus government.
