As the Internal Security Forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces continued their sweeping campaigns within al-Hol Camp, in the “Humanitarian and Security” operation in its third phase, which was launched on January 27, the YAT Counter-Terrorism Units joined them.

According to the field commanders and supervisors of the “Humanitarian and Security” operation, the tasks of these forces lie in carrying out specific operations within the sectors of the camp according to specific objectives and intelligence information, coinciding with the continuing forces participating in combing the other sectors.

During the sweeping operations on the fourth day, the forces were able to arrest a number of mercenaries and their collaborators.

According to what security sources told ANHA correspondents covering the operation, “the forces found 3 hand grenades, two explosive belts, two Kalashnikov weapons, and 10 Kalashnikov magazines, in addition to narcotic injections (Tramadol), according to the confessions of the mercenaries who were arrested.

Given the seriousness of the conditions inside the camp, as it was noted during the campaign, according to the leaders, that there was a significant increase in the rate of extremism of the residents, in contrast to previous campaigns, the anti-terrorism units brought in YAT to carry out some special operations within the camp
