Survivors of the recent attacks on Sweida and its surrounding areas told ANHA agency that they were subjected to violations and direct targeting by the transitional government forces, including field executions carried out inside hospitals.

Hamdi Nassar Zuhair al-Din, a wounded civilian from the village of Kafr Lahf, spoke to ANHA agency about what he witnessed and how he was injured: “We were shelled and attacked by the General Security forces and Bedouins from the village of al-Majdal. We resisted to prevent them from reaching our areas, but we were bombed by drones operated by General Security. I, my brother, my cousin who is a doctor, and my sister’s husband were all injured.”

Iyad al-Hayyan was wounded near the transport intersection after the area was struck by a guided missile, he reported, as the transitional government forces entered the city with armored vehicles on the first day of the assault.

Another injured man, who sustained shrapnel wounds to his leg, said the transitional government forces in Syria directly targeted the people of Sweida, describing them as “the very same Daesh (ISIS).” He noted that instead of protecting civilians, they even targeted healthcare workers and any volunteer heading to the hospital, pointing out that doctors and hospital supervisors were executed directly.

Since July 13, 2025, Sweida has witnessed a military escalation that has resulted in the death of 1,311 people, including 196 who were executed in the field, along with widespread destruction of infrastructure, looting of property, and the total collapse of essential services amidst chaos.
