Kurdish, Arab, and Armenian women shared their views with ANHA's agency regarding a democratic Syria and the role of women in building it.

Aref Nerses Qasbian, co-chair of the Armenian Social Council in North and East Syria, explained that the aspiration of the Syrian people and Syrian women is a decentralized Syria. She stated, "All people and women aspire to build a democratic Syria where justice and equality prevail. We do not want the new system to be monolithic, based on a single language and culture. The various components of Syrian society must not be ignored."

Aref stated that women's demand is for a democratic Syria, adding, "We want all components of Syrian society to obtain their rights and defend Syria. All components must play their role, and every woman and every community must live according to their own way, culture, and identity."

She highlighted the pioneering role of women in society and emphasized that this must continue in the new Syria. She concluded, "Women must play their leading role in their institutions and develop themselves in all political, social, cultural, and professional fields in Syria. Change will be brought about by women, and a new civilization will be built by their hands."

For her part, Hasakah City Council member Rojin Ali said, "We women will obtain our rights in the new Syria and strengthen our role in its reconstruction. To build a democratic Syria, we must fulfill our duties and develop ourselves organizationally and through training. The women of North and East Syria must connect with all Syrian women Kurdish, Arab, Armenian, Syriac, and Turkmen and strengthen their work to develop and organize themselves."

Lina Zaher, a member of the organizational office of the Future Syria Party, explained that democracy in Syria will strengthen unity and cohesion. Conversely, protecting the rights of all components of Syrian society and ensuring the participation of women and youth will build a democratic Syria.

Lina concluded by saying, "Syrian women must play their role in the political, social, and cultural spheres. They have already written their names in the pages of history, and they will now take their place in a democratic Syria. The women of North and East Syria can lead Syrian women and strengthen their work among them."
