Local sources reported that the flames reached the outskirts of the villages of Tahounat al-Halawa and Ain al-Kurum, as firefighting and civil defense teams rushed to contain the blaze and prevent it from encroaching upon residential areas. However, high winds and rugged mountainous terrain have hindered any tangible progress.

Limited displacement has been observed among residents toward safer locations, while others have appealed for intensified efforts to avert a repeat of past years, when wildfires devastated thousands of dunums of farmland and caused extensive losses to crops and fruit-bearing trees.

It is worth recalling that the western Hama countryside and northern Latakia countryside have witnessed recurrent wildfires in recent years, inflicting severe damage on agricultural wealth and natural forests, amid accusations that government authorities have failed to take urgent preventive measures.
