Wide fires consume hundreds of dunams in Qamishlo, Jel Agha, Tirbê Spîyê countryside

A major fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon in agricultural lands surrounding the villages of Karsour and the Ali Fero junction in the western countryside of Qamishlo, spreading across vast areas of cultivated and harvested farmland.

According to information obtained from the area, strong winds and high temperatures accelerated the spread of the flames, complicating efforts by firefighting teams and local residents to contain the blaze. Hundreds of dunams of both harvested and unharvested agricultural land were destroyed in the fire.

In Jel Agha, another fire erupted in agricultural lands near the village of Baqla, south of the town. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

The blaze destroyed approximately 100 dunams of wheat crops, in addition to 200 dunams of harvested farmland (stubble fields), and also consumed three storage facilities within the village.

Meanwhile, in Tirbê Spîyê, a fire broke out near the Shabo checkpoint south of the town, spreading across extensive areas of harvested and unharvested agricultural land amid ongoing difficulties in bringing the blaze under control.
